Zakia Ringgold is a systems architect and AI enablement strategist who builds operational infrastructure for creators, coaches, and small business owners. She is the founder of Convelyn, Business Tech Lab, Maker Studio AI, and Live Soap School.
Her work sits at the intersection of human communication, cognitive continuity, and AI-native system design. Before becoming a full-time founder, she worked in healthcare learning and development, including instructional design and systems training within large clinical environments.
In June 2025, Zakia returned from Thailand — where she had gone to celebrate her mother's retirement — and was rushed to the hospital.
Stage 3 colon cancer. Three surgeries. A month of hospitalization. Neuropathy in her hands. Ninety days without her voice, from damage caused by an NG tube during treatment. Six rounds of chemotherapy. And midway through her own recovery, her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.
In the hospital bed, she asked the only question that mattered. What if I don't make it. And then: if I do make it, I've got to make sure my girls can be taken care of.
She leaned into AI as the only form of building available to someone whose hands hurt and whose voice was gone. She mapped, planned, and built through conversation and precise questioning — the same instruments that had always been hers.
When she could work again, she did not waste a minute. In six months, she built eight solutions. Each one traces directly to a chapter of her life. Four have paying customers. None were marketed.
The seeds were already in the ground.
Rather than viewing AI as simply a content generator or automation layer, Zakia approaches it as a continuity system, a translation layer, an operational support mechanism, a cognitive support tool, and an infrastructure accelerator.
